We were delighted to receive this fantastic coverage in On Office magazine for our work at 87 Weston Street with developer Solid Space and Beyond Collective.
The building at 87 Weston Street SE1 was designed and built by award-winning architects AHMM who provided a fantastic space for Jackdaw had to work with. The building offered cathedral like volumes of space, up to 4m high, lit from above by a number of skylights, all of which creates a stunning architectural backdrop to our work.
Our brief from Beyond Collective was no less interesting – our challenge then was to bring bridge the gap in a way that placed the needs of the end user firmly at the forefront of our design.
Established to be a new kind of marcomms agency, Beyond Collective is a meeting point for experts from diverse disciplines – all co-working collaboratively to create a special kind of ‘atomic soup’.
We began by dividing the space into a ‘Work Hall’ and supporting areas. Work tables that echo the wedge shape of the building are positioned within the main space and walkways to either side drive footfall down two pathways, encouraging serendipitous encounters. We also included ‘The Perch’, a bespoke shared worktable, which also enables gatherings, as well as large areas given over to work reviews and presentations.
Through a combination of smart space planning and bespoke designed furniture we are proud to have created a workspace for the future of collective working.
